RGB Class Structure - Update

Hi Paul (and other committee members of course),

I'm happy enough with the changes but do feel slightly vulnerable as the owner of an about to become obsolete car.

Can I ask if you've discussed the duration of the 'grandfather rights' for the existing Class A cars? Based on what I've heard so far the presumption is that it's indefinite.

That's the view at the moment. As ever, we don't want to push cars out of the formula, although the attraction of the new world is pretty clear.

Thanks for the response on engine eligibility dates, as we are looking at completing the most significant overall of the regulations for many years, I think it would be an opertunity missed to not complete the job. I favour escalating one year every year after a 3 year current date freeze, as engine performance rarely increases significantly one year to the next, if the gap in updates is larger then the performance diference will be far more significant.

My concern around the class restriction on new entries was focused towards ensuring people planning to join RGB and currently in build, rather than those already known to us are not excluded or faced with a big engine bill, I had no doubt that you would have been in contact with Tim to ensure that he would be eligible.

Regards

Ian

Hi Guys,

is the fireblade cup to run at all events/races next year ? or a select number ?

I Imagine its for all events, but worth asking as it could motivate an Irish invasion if was over a select number !! :D

Mark,

I think it'd be based on the final championship position at the end of the year. That is, all the events would count, including the usual drop two rule.
